This year Cartoon Club turns 39 and continues its evolution: from the first edition of 1985 dedicated to the projection of animated films to the current ones, which for a week fill the entire city of Rimini with exhibitions, conferences, concerts, meetings with the authors and much more.
Animation competitions
The experience born in 1997 with the animation awards continues: the cinema competition has come to have 6 thematic sections:
- Signor Rossi Award: for the work of students of secondary animation schools and Italian and international university faculties
- Cartoon Club Award: for animated works made by professional authors and production companies
- Cartoon Junior Award: for the works carried out within animation workshops for primary school children (elementary and middle) Italian and international
- Environment Award: for works dedicated to the theme of environmental sustainability
- Cartoon Kids Award: for works intended for audiences between 3 and 11 years old
- Iunior TV Award: with a jury of experts appointed by the Iunior TV television network, specialized in content dedicated to young people
The awards are accompanied by the International Panorama section, dedicated to authors who do not intend to participate in the competitive sections
Exhibitions
Every year Cartoon Club organizes various exhibitions in different places in the city: from the Museum of Rimini in the historic center, passing through the Augeo art gallery, to get in front of the beach of Marina Centro to Palazzina Roma
The themes of the 2023 exhibitions will be published in the program of the exhibitions as soon as they are defined
Concerts
Like every year, also in 2023 Cartoon Club will host numerous concerts: from Piazza Francesca da Rimini to Piazzale Federico Fellini, live music will accompany the events and guests of the event
The program of the concerts will be published as soon as the guests and the programming of the events will be made official
Riminicomix
As usual, also this year the area of Piazzale Federico Fellini will be animated by Riminicomix: the exhibition-market dedicated to comics and cosplay
Television
In 2023 the collaboration with Iunior TV was born, a television channel that offers a schedule entirely dedicated to young people
Iunior TV will broadcast a selection of the animation works that will reach the final in the Cartoon Club film competition, it will also appoint a jury of experts for the section of the competition that bears the name of Iunior TV
