The Film Competition, founded in 1997, has come to have 6 thematic sections:
- Mr. Rossi Award for the works of students from secondary animation schools and Italian and international university faculties
- Cartoon Club Award for Animated Works by Professional Authors and Production Companies
- Cartoon Junior Award for the works created within animation workshops for children of Italian and international primary schools (elementary and middle school)
- Environment Award for works dedicated to the theme of environmental sustainability
- Cartoon Kids Award for works aimed at an audience between 3 and 11 years old
- Iunior TV Award with a jury of experts appointed by the Iunior TV television network, specialized in content dedicated to young people
In addition to the awards, there is the International Panorama section, dedicated to authors who do not intend to participate in the competitive sections
