Rocco Tanica
Rocco Tanica, pseudonym of Sergio Conforti, is an Italian keyboardist, composer, comedian and television author.
Always a member of the band Elio e le Storie Tese, together with Elio he is co-author of most of the songs of the group present in the records Elio Samaga Hukapan Kariyana Turu, Italyan, Rum Casusu Çikti and Esco dal mio corpo e ho molta paura. He is also the sole author of the songs Luigi il pugilista, Amore amorissimo and Il circo discutibile, as well as the music of I delfini nuotano. She also sings in the songs Cara ti amo, Alfieri, Shpalman, She wants, Parla come mangi and I delfini nuotano.
Together with Elio, Faso, Cesareo, Linus and Mangoni he was host of Cordialmente from 1993 to 2018, writing numerous humorous columns for the broadcast.
Conforti is also the main arranger of the group’s pieces and also of existing songs, just think of Che felicità di Giorgio Bracardi, arranged by him in the orchestral and rhythmic version.
In addition to the main activity of keyboardist with Elio e le Storie Tese, Tanica has also collaborated with several other musicians such as Massimo Ranieri, Fabrizio De André, Roberto Vecchioni, Claudio Baglioni, Ricchi e Poveri, Sergio Caputo, Stefano Nosei, Max Pezzali, The Kolors, Claudio Bisio and Paola Cortellesi.
In 1991 he co-authored with Claudio Bisio the single Rapput.
Television author, in the two-year period 2007-2008 Tanica collaborated on the Sunday broadcast of Rai 2 Quelli che… il calcio.
He leads the format Quasi TG, surreal news produced by Endemol and Vodafone Italia, distributed as a VAS service and also broadcast on the comedy Central satellite channel. Since 2009 he has participated in the comedy series I soliti idioti, on MTV, playing the role of the taxi driver in the sketches Quindi quindi. In 2010 he was the author and presenter of TG Tanica, a column of the LA7 Crozza Italia broadcast then revived in 2011 within TV Talk on Rai 3.
He is co-presenter of Xtra Factor, aftershow of the talent X Factor of which Elio is a judge. Since 2011 he has been a regular guest of the same program, to comment comically on the live X Factor just ended.
In 2014 he participated in the program Il Musichione, curated by his group, Elio e le Storie Tese. The contribution to the program consists above all in some bizarre interviews (parodies of those of television magazines) to celebrities of the show, occasionally takes part in the live performances of the group, under the pseudonym of Sergio Antibiotice. He will adopt this pseudonym also later, for the Sanremo Festival 2016.
From 10 to 14 February 2015 he is in the cast of the Sanremo Festival 2015 in the role of special correspondent from the press room, from which he proposes his surreal review of newspapers and magazines. He is then confirmed in the cast of the event for subsequent editions, aired respectively from 9 to 13 February 2016 and from 7 to 11 February 2017. In spring 2015 he co-presented, together with Lucilla Agosti, the program Italia’s Got Veramente Talent? , a comedy talk show that serves as an after-night stand for Italia’s Got Talent. From 8 June he has been hosting Razzolaser on Rai 2, together with Angela Rafanelli.
In 2022 he is among the tutors of the talent show The band and participates in the Dungeons & Deejay podcast with Victoria Cabello, Brenda Lodigiani, Matteo Curti and Francesco Lancia.
