Paolo Castaldi is a comic book artist and illustrator born in 1982.

His graphic novels have been translated into over fifteen countries around the world.

He addressed the migrant crisis in Etenesh (2011, Beccogiallo), which won the Boscarato Award for Best Debut Work.

He later gained wider recognition with Diego Armando Maradona (2012, Beccogiallo), a graphic novel about the legendary football champion.

For Feltrinelli Comics, he published Zlatan. A Journey Where the Myth Begins (2018), L’ora X. A Story of Lotta Continua (2019, based on a screenplay by Erri De Luca, co-written with Cosimo Damiano Damato), La buona novella (2020, based on lyrics by Fabrizio De André), 11 luglio 1982 (2022), and Pugni. Stories of Boxing (2023), written by Boris Battaglia.

In France, he published Vann Nath (2020) and L’Appel des bouts du monde (2025) with La Boîte à Bulles, and Le dernier costume n’a pas de poche with Futuropolis (2025).

He collaborates with Linus and La Revue, and has illustrated several sport-themed books for Gribaudo, written by great champions in football history.
