Mar Sáez Pedrero is the international-affairs lead at PROA, Spain’s audiovisual-producers federation. A Communication graduate of Madrid’s Complutense University, she has logged 20-plus years in the industry before shifting to policy work.

Since 2014 she has advised PROA’s general director and run the federation’s European agenda, putting together projects such as Animar_BCN – European Animation Convention, one of the few trade events that actually turns meetings into contracts.

In June 2019 she was elected Secretary General of Animation in Europe, the umbrella body that links 23 producer associations across 20 EEA countries. Her brief is straightforward: line up co-productions, defend shared interests in Brussels, and keep smaller studios in the game as streaming demand rises.
