Giulio Rincione
Giulio Rincione is an illustrator, painter, and comic book artist from Palermo.
He began his career in 2012 as a colorist for Rizzoli Lizard. In 2013, he founded the independent art collective “Pee Show”, which led him in 2014 to start collaborating with the publishing house Shockdom.
For Shockdom, he drew the first two episodes of “Noumeno” and won the Missaglia Prize as breakout author at the Treviso Comic Book Festival in 2015.
His production with Shockdom continued with a series of successful titles that established him with a wide audience:
“Paranoiae”, a graphic novel for which he was the sole author, published in 2015;”Paperi”, written with his brother Marco, published in 2016, with which he won the Andrea Pazienza Prize as “Best Illustrator”;”Vite di Carta”, written with his brother Marco, published in 2017;”Condusse Me”, once again as sole author, published in 2018;”Il cuore della Città”, written by Francesco Savino and winner of the Boscarato Prize as “Best Web Comic” at the Treviso Comic Book Festival.
In 2022, he returned as sole author with the saga “DIRT”, the first volume of which (“I figli di Edin”) was a finalist at the 2023 Micheluzzi and Gran Guinigi Awards in the “Best Series” category.
The saga was later published by Tunué in 2024 with a new edition of the first volume and the awaited second volume: “Dirt – Skeentopolis”. The third volume is scheduled for release in October 2025.
In 2024, he collaborated with Mirage Comics on the volumes “Casi Metaumani” and “Elegy Of A Bleeding Soul”, creating two short stories and the covers.
Rincione works with some of the most important Italian comic publishers, such as Star Comics (“Dottor Morgue”) and Sergio Bonelli Editore. For Bonelli, he created several works on Dylan Dog, including:
Cover of Color Fest 21 “Lo scuotibare”;”Lisola dei morti” written by Michele Monteleone, in Color Fest 24;The special “Grouchomicon – la fine di un giorno qualunque”, written by his brother Marco and later published in Color Fest 34;Dylan Dog Color Fest 36 “Mister Punch”, written by Giovanni de Feo, for which he created both the pages and the cover.
In 2023, he joined Dario Moccia’s team of artists for several projects including the collectible card set “Lore – Flashback”, the acclaimed “Monsters” series published by Panini, the “Disney Anthology” card set (2024), and the Tomodachi Press project “Cuphead – Out Of The Cards” (2025).
Rincione has also worked as a cover artist for several Italian publishers such as Marsilio Editore, Acheron Books, Edizioni Inkiostro, and is among the artists of the prestigious Roman gallery Cart Gallery, with which he has organized several exhibitions of original works.
Internationally, he collaborates with some of the biggest companies in the industry, such as Walt Disney America, Treyarch, Marvel Entertainment (on “Marvel SNAP”) and DC Comics.
He also teaches at several comic art schools, such as the International School of Comics and the School of Comics in Palermo.
