Fabio Celoni (Sesto San Giovanni, 1971).
Comic-book artist and writer, illustrator, painter and author. He has been published by various Italian and international publishers since 1989.
He has collaborated with The Walt Disney Company since 1990 for Topolino and later for many other Disney comic and book titles (PK New Adventure, PK2, Paperinik, L’Economia di Zio Paperone, Paperfantasy, etc.) as an artist, writer and cover artist. He was the official cover artist for Paperinik for several years.
Since 2000 he has been on the Dylan Dog (SBE) staff as artist and writer, later working on Dampyr and Brad Barron, for which he created the protagonist’s design and the covers.
He is one of the few Italian artists able to handle humorous, realistic and grotesque styles, using traditional tools (brush, nib), mixed painting techniques (gouache, pastels, watercolours, etc.) and digital methods.
For Disney/Panini he drew parodies of literary classics such as “Dracula di Bram Topker”, “Lo strano caso del dottor Ratkyll e mister Hyde” and “Duckenstein di Mary Shelduck”, written by Bruno Enna and published worldwide. His first Disney story as complete author, “Il destino di Paperone”, was a great success.
He wrote the Gothic novel “Gli abitanti dell’Ombra Effimera” (Ponchiroli Ed.), the historical/esoteric essay “Milano, esoterismo e mistero” (Ed. Olimpia), the essay “I figli di Tolkien” for the catalogue of the exhibition “Tolkien. Uomo, professore, autore” (Skira), the essay “Lucifero, l’ombra e la luce” for “Suspiria: l’eretico” (Annexia) and the horror/fantasy short stories “Color grigio sangue” (Morellini) and “Anselmo sotto la pioggia” (Milena Ed.).
He created “SmartComiX” with his Prague-based publisher Cerny Klaun, together with some of the greatest Italian cartoonists.
For Panini Comics he produced the multi-award-winning graphic novel based on Totò’s “lost” film “L’erede di Don Chisciotte”, from a 1948 concept by Cesare Zavattini and others, handling script, art and colours.
He produced the Author Playing Cards (2021) and Author Medals (2024), both for Disney/Panini.
He has been published by Walt Disney Company, Panini Comics, Sergio Bonelli Editore, Glénat (FR), DC Comics (USA), Dark Horse (USA), Buena Vista (USA), Mondadori, Piemme, Feltrinelli, Rizzoli, De Agostini, 001 Edizioni, Star Comics, Heavy Metal (USA), Cerny Klaun (CZ), Labirinthum, Alessandro Distribuzioni, Eclecta, Acme, Ponchiroli Ed., Editoriale Olimpia, Milena Ed., Scuola del Fumetto Ed., Skira, Morellini Ed., Annexia, ShockDom, Indy Press, Tunué, Mirage Comics, Veseli Cetvrtak (SRB), Lo Scarabocchiatore Ed., Il Giorno, Schibsted (NO), Cicero (DK), Bloomsbury (UK), Salamandra (ES), Niculescu (RO), De Bezige Bij (NL), Belfond (FR), Culturama Editora (BR), Nea Aktina (GR), Egmont (DK) and dozens of other Disney licensees worldwide.
