Women in Comics Fashion Show by Accademia Laba
The students of the LABA Academy, led by the teacher Caterina Gentile, give life to a unique event: the “Women in Comics Fashion Show”. This fashion show celebrates the role of women in comics and fashion, exploring femininity across different eras and cultural contexts.
The protagonists who inspired the students are women who have revolutionized the history of comics, proposing new models of femininity, female voices in an inclusive and equal perspective, using comics as a tool for active reflection. This approach allows us to interpret different female worlds, analyzing characters created by masters such as Grim Natwick, Trina Robbins, Harry G. Peters, Frank Miller, Guido Crepax, Cinzia Ghigliano, and Angela and Luciana Guissani.
From conception to packaging, the students were able to express their artistic vision and thanks to meticulous research and meticulous attention to detail they created over 30 models that they bring to the stage of Piazzale Fellini.
