Combining two passions such as comics (or animation) and football is possible. You have to find the right stories to tell – but the world of football is full of them! – and you can draw very engaging works.
Four authors tell their very different experiences in this regard: Davide Barzi author of the graphic novel Giacinto Facchetti – Il rumore non fa gol, Riccardo Mazzoli, creator of the animated miniseries Calciatoons, broadcast on Italia 1, Claudio Sciarrone, who told in comics the exploits of the Inter women’s team, and Mabel Morri, a cartoonist who has always been attentive to the social implications of sport, who regularly tells the most extraordinary stories on the online magazine Quasi.
