The Cartoon Club Festival (Acli Arte e Spettacolo Rimini), participates in the European project AGRI4EDU23 promoted by Iniziative Editoriali-Icaro TV.
Through a series of activities, the EAGRI4EDU23 project aims to promote a greater understanding and awareness of European agriculture and the New Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) among Italian citizens, with a focus on raising children’s awareness of a healthy and sustainable lifestyle linked to environmental awareness.
During the Cartoon Club Festival, the educational workshops Draw the CAP in comics will be launched, during which about 1,000 children from the summer camps of the Municipality of Rimini will have the opportunity to express their understanding of the CAP through comic drawing.
These workshops, which will take place for 5 consecutive days at the Museum of the City of Rimini, will offer a practical and engaging experience to participants, helping them to better understand the role and objectives of European agricultural policy.
In addition, there will be 5 evenings of animated film screenings focused on environmental protection in the peripheral centers of the Province of Rimini, as part of the Illuminated Sailing Film Festival. These screenings will not only provide entertainment, but also provide insights into environmental protection and the importance of sustainable agricultural practices.
Another noteworthy initiative is the full day of the Festival dedicated to the themes of biodiversity protection and the CAP. During this day, children will have the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops and to watch dramatizations of the comic Un Viaggio Inaspettato, together with the presence of female farmers who will share their experiences, such as that of the flood in Romagna in 2023. In the afternoon, there will be a public meeting with experts in the environmental sector, while the evening will be dedicated to the presentation of the project with screenings for families.
Other activities include the screening of short educational videos during the opening of the Festival, the creation of a special section of animated short films on the theme to be included on the YouTube channel of the Cartoon Club Festival and the promotion of the Draw the CAP competition through a selection of the drawings that are visible on the Cartoon Club website.
There will also be a public meeting with experts in the environmental sector and authors of comics and animated films who have created works on the theme of sustainability and protection of the earth.
The evening will be dedicated to the presentation of the project with screenings of animated films for families.
Every evening the Festival will screen 9 pills of Paco the farmer, created for children with the help of the LIS language for those who are deaf.
6 films made by the author Mauro Masi with the sand technique on 6 themes of the CAP will also be visible.
